South Africa: A 26 year old taxi driver sustained moderate injuries after he crashed into a tree on Vincent Dickenson Road in Canelands – KZN this morning (Monday).
Passing motorists contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 07:16, requesting assistance for the driver who was trapped in the wreckage.
RUSA Members were dispatched to the scene and, on arrival, freed the man with assistance from the public. He was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the accident. According to the driver, he lost control of his Toyota Quantum after he avoided another vehicle.
He was treated for his injuries on the scene before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
While conducting the interview, the local residents of the area stated that “Taxi? No surprise there. They think they own the roads and that the RULES DON’T APPLY TO THEM.”
On the same day, Reaction Unit South Africa discovered a body of an unidentified male with multiple stab wounds was discovered on Umdloti Beach Road in the vicinity of the Waterloo Phase 6 – KZN entrance earlier today (Monday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from a ward councillor who made the discovery at approximately 00:06. Reaction Officers & RUSA Medics were dispatched to the scene and, on arrival, discovered the man lying on a grass patch on the side of the road. Upon examination, he was found to have been stabbed twice in the head and once on his body.
The motive for the murder was not immediately established.
The team of Reaction Unit South Africa is conducting research and trying to find the reason for the murder, and at the same time, they appealed to the public to cooperate with them and give them information if they have that.
