Botswana: The Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport, and Culture hosted the National Arts Festival Fashion Show Final in Palapye. The event was hosted at the Palapye International Convention Centre with several fashion enthusiasts in attendance.
The officials shared that they had transformed the venue in Palapye to a fasion hub. The grand finale saw a showcase of talent from fashion enthusiast across Botswana. The event was hosted over the weekend and was highly successful.
The event, which highlighted the talent of both the fashion designers and fashion models in Botswana also served as the perfect platform for the participants to make valuable connections.
The connections will help people form a profitable career out of their talent and make a comfortable living out of their craft. Donald “Dondada” Nnoto, Director and Founder of Keno Suits launched the final event
He heralded the event as a new chapter of collaboration. He emphasized the readiness of the private sector to engage with the ministry in empowering fashion designers and models and also urged the business community to partner with the government in advancing the creative industry.
Nnoto praised the National Arts Competitions for opening international doors for Botswana’s models and fashion designers, citing their participation in prestigious events such as *Fashion Without Borders. He concluded by expressing gratitude to all mentors who have supported Botswana’s fashion talent.
The event featured performances by Amantle Brown and Khoisan, adding a touch of entertainment to the proceedings.
The winners will be awarded by the president in Gaborone at the GICC tomorrow during the award ceremony, joining other National Arts Festivals category winners.
