St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew met US Secretary of State – Marco A. Rubio on May 06, 2025 in an official high-level meeting. He was conjoined by the six other Caribbean leaders in the meeting, where discussions to strengthen bilateral ties were held.
Reportedly, the meeting brought together the Prime Ministers of various Caribbean regions such as Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Together they all focused majorly on advancing the critical areas of shared interest between the United States and the Caribbean region.
PM Drew acknowledged the initiative and expressed that he was joined by the Foreign Minister – Denzil Douglas and St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador to the United States – Jacinth Henry-Martin, along with other Caribbean leaders and their delegations in a meaningful and constructive conversation with United States Secretary of State – Marco Rubio.
He added that the St. Kitts and Nevis federation is looking forward to continuing dialogue between the United States and their region.
Drew further described the discussions and marked that it was a frank conversation, completely focused, that is also looking forward to future considerations. He also noted that St. Kitts and Nevis has always remained committed to ensure that the voice of the Caribbean region continues to be heard.
Moreover, the Caribbean leaders will continue to work collaboratively to secure tangible outcomes for the people.
It was an important diplomatic engagement that focused clearly on matters of mutual interest and aimed at strengthening cooperation and deepening ties between the United States and the Eastern Caribbean. The agenda of the meeting was expected to cover a wide range of critical areas.
Notably, Prime Minister Drew continued to champion the advancement of St. Kitts and Nevis within the regional and international frameworks, that emphasized the value of sustained dialogue and partnership with key global allies.
