South Africa: A collision on Old Main Road in Ottawa – KZN has claimed two lives of two women. Meanwhile several other occupants of a mini bus were injured in the accident which happened on Tuesday.
The accident happened when the driver of the Mini Van Taxi was trying to overtake another vehicle on the road. At this point, the vehicle collided with an oncoming Ford Everest that was coming from the opposite direction.
The members of the community, who were passing by the road where the accident happened called the RUSA for assistance. The Reaction Unit South Africa shared that they received several calls from the motorists reporting the accident.
At this point, a team of Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene at approximately 08:24. The responding officers scoped the area and found the bodies of the dead woman inside the mini bus.
The officials reported that fifteen other individuals including the driver of the white Toyota Quantum were lying on the side of the road. The reaction officer also found an extensively damaged silver Ford Everest approximately 70 metres away.
The driver was the only occupant of the Ford Everest Vehicle and and managed to free himself from the wreckage. The Reaction officers talked to the victims who were involved in the accident who informed them about the collision in detail.
One of the victims in the collision was a six month pregnant woman who has also sustained injuries. The exact situation of the victims in the accident had not been made clear by the authorities. The people have expressed their concern on the accident that happened in Ottawa – KZN.
The people believe that the Taxi Driver may have been responsible for the incident as the drivers are known to be careless about other road users safety. The people on the internet also extended their sincere condolences on the death of the two victims.
