St Kitts: PM Terrance Drew invites public support for island wide cleanup

St Kitts: Dr Terrance Drew, the prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis and his team have started an island-wide cleanup exercise. The Ministry of Environment and Constituency Empowerment et al. is responsible for organizing the drive.

The cleanup drive will be overseen by the ministry, led by Dr Joyelle Clarke. The event has already started. The event is dubbed The National Christmas Community Cleanse.

The event is being led by Department of Constituency Empowerment and its partners:

  • The Solid Waste Management Corporation
  • S.T.E.P,
  • Elevate,
  • Department of Environment St Kitts
  • Department of Environmental Health, Ministry of Sustainable Development
  • Parks & Beaches Unit
  • The Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force,
  • Public Works Department

The initiative aims to transform the island before the people of the island indulge in the celebration of Christmas and New Year. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has provided an update on the cleanup drive through his social media.

He also invited the people of the island to assist and support the administration. He encouraged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to get the country clean and keep it that way.

The Prime Minister and his team have been working on transforming St Kitts and Nevis into a sustainable island state. The Drew-led administration has taken many steps towards this mandate throughout their terms in their office.

They believe that maintaining clean surroundings is an important step towards achieving the goal of becoming a sustainable island state. PM Terrance Drew asserted that Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

The people of St Kitts and Nevis shared some glimpses from the ongoing Christmas cleanup exercises that are currently in progress in various communities of St Kitts.

Some residents of St kitts also appreciated the prime minister and his team for taking up this remarkable initiative. The people have appreciated the government for the work that they have put into the country’s betterment.
