Malawi: International Non-government organization, World Vision has handed over 512 construction projects to the Malawi government. The construction projects will be realized at an investment of approximately K8.1 billion.
World Vision Malawi has been a diligent partner of the government in ensuring that they can carry out developmental initiatives. The National Director of World Vision, Francis Dube, has extended his support to the government’s mandate to develop the nation.
The handover of the 512 construction projects was held on Thursday in Lilongwe. The National Director delivered an address at the ceremony and reiterated the organization’s support to the government.
Dube further appreciated the government for providing a conducive environment for the organization to work. They thanked all the partners who have been working with them to ensure the smooth implementation of the projects.
He spoke on behalf of the organization and shared the details of the organization’s efforts in this regard. The non-government organization has been receiving significant appreciation and gratitude from the administration for their support
In an interview the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Mia appreciated the  commended World Vision for the projects they undertook. She claimed that the projects aligned perfectly with Malawi Vision 2063.
“We would like to appreciate World Vision for the development projects in the water sector SDG 6 and all the other sustainable goals. World Vision has done a lot for Malawi, and I would like to invite other organizations to follow suit,” she said.
The projects that were handed over to the people of the country to construct among many others. include:
- Classrooms
- Village clinics
- A vocational center
- Solar-powered reticulated water systems
World Vision is working on various infrastructure projects across the country with a focus on four technical areas:
- Education
- Maternal and Child Health
- Livelihoods and Resilience
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
The projects will help the members of the country get access to better standard of living for themselves and their families.
