Africa: Africa Weather Forecast launched its weekly summary (24 July – 30 July 2023); as per African weather reports, Cloudy, wet and cold over the eastern provinces in the first part of the week, while the west central interior receives a few days of sunshine.
This will be followed by a strong cold front precipitating light rainfall in the west on Wednesday and the southeast (Eastern Cape) on Thursday. Mostly calm on Friday, followed by a second wave in the west and central interior throughout the weekend.
High chance of light rainfall over KwaZulu-Natal and the far eastern Eastern Cape at first but over the eastern escarpment as far as Mbombela today. Otherwise, partly cloudy and cool elsewhere in the east and south.
Fine and cool across most of the country on Tuesday but partly cloudy in the far east with morning fog patches in places over the Lowveld and the far west with a medium chance of light rainfall.
Calm at first but windy in the west (40km/h) over central Northern Cape around midday, followed by a high chance of isolated showers and thundershowers over the Cape interior on Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday morning when they spend most time shrouding the Eastern Cape and southern Free State.
Fine and cool elsewhere but partly cloudy with light fog in the northeast at first on Wednesday but fine on Thursday.
By Friday, the second wave may be delayed leading to most of the country becoming fine with somewhat settled as another cold front intensifies while in the waters to the southwest of the country. High chance of light rainfall in the far southwest in the afternoon.
High chance of light to moderate rainfall in the southwest on Saturday, but spreading into the central interior on Sunday as the second cold front wave moves east throughout the weekend. Low chance of intense rainfall exceeding 50mm over the southwest on Saturday but along the south coast on Sunday and Monday.
