Nigeria: Amanda Chisom (born on 22 June 1988) is a mediapreneur, social influencer, opinion blogger, and youth and children’s rights activist. She is known for media and communication consulting, and she owns one of the top PR/branding firms in Nigeria, as well as a property company.
Early life and education:
Amanda was born in Anambra but grew up in Port Harcourt. She attended Redemption model primary school, Nigeria Navy Secondary school Port Harcourt and proceeded to Nnamdi Azikwe University Akwa, where she got a degree in Entrepreneurship and Public Administration. She further went on to acquire a certificate and diploma in public relations from the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Career and Professional life:
During her NYSC in Akwa Ibom state, she served with the Ministry of Information and worked as a Media consultant for Conscience International and other media firms. In 2016, she started her own Communication and Public relations company, Torchblaze Media Consults.
According to her LinkedIn profile, her social media followership over the years has grown to over 1,000,000 with more than 34m engagements annually on all social media platforms. Amanda also owns Torchblaze Homes and Shelter, The Hood Integrated Service, Le Ton and Omerem Events.
Recognition:
She is the youngest member of a standing committee on the National Conference of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). She is a notable speaker on youth, business, career development, and political and women’s affairs and has spoken at several conferences all over the country. She has also served as a brand ambassador and influencer to many brands, and she has been given several awards for her meritorious service and human rights activism.
Personal life:
Amanda is from Nimo in Anambra state and has kept her life away from the media. When she is not working, she works part-time in a children’s home and volunteers in her local church outreach and loves to travel and eat.
