South Africa: A man has sustained serious injuries after he overturned his vehicle during a shooting incident. The accident happened in Emona – KZN in the afternoon hours of Monday.
The victim has been identified as the owner of a Taxi Company while the suspects who shot at him have not been identified by the Reaction Unit South Africa. The members of the community reported the shooting incident to the Reaction Officers.
The members of the community witnessed the shooting incident and reached out to the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre. The call for assistance from residents requesting assistance was received around 19:00 hours.
Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene at approximately 19:37. A silver Toyota Fortuner was discovered lying in its side with the victim of the shooting incident was also in the vehicle.
The officials have shared that the members of the community spoke to them and informed them that they saw two unknown vehicles. These vehicles overtook the Toyota Fortuner that was travelling on an unpaved road in Emona – KZN.
The occupants of both the unknown vehicles opened fire on the Fortuner SUV. The driver of the SUV Taxi swerved off the road. His vehicle travelled down an embankment along the side of the road before it overturned.
The injured male was transported to hospital before the reaction officers could arrive at the scene and start their investigation. The officers were unable to confirm the number of times that the taxi business owner was shot.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately established. Meanwhile RUSA continue to conduct their investigation and track down the suspects who had opened fire at the business owner.
The members of the community have also come out on the internet to share their views on the new development. According to the comments featured in the post from the Reaction Unit, the people were alarmed by the incidents of shooting in the community.
The people, while expressing their disappointment, also appreciated the Reaction Unit South Africa for their dedication to serving the people. “RUSA to the rescue always” said one of the comments.
