Cape Town: The month of March is completely packed with events, and visitors can enjoy the numerous events that the City of Cape Town will observe.
The events will be observed from March 01, 2024, to March 24, 2024, as the Southern Mail Wynberg Family Festival will begin, and the events with three days of live music, carnival rides, delicious food, treats and more.
The event will keep the audiences entertained until Sunday at Maynardville Park with live performances from Jarrad Ricketts, Amy Jones, Mark Haze, Sons of Selassie, Berry Trytsman and DJ Ashton Parenzee.
Following is the schedule for the month of March that the Cape Town will be observing:
Cape Town Cycle Tour
It is world’s largest-timed cycle race pedals through the Mother City that will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 where more than 30,000 cyclists will be taking on the 109 km and 49 km routes around the Cape Peninsula.
The timings for the race are 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. that will begin from Grand Parade and will conclude at the Green Point Precinct.
Cape Town Ladies Open  Â
This year the city will be organising the 10th edition of the Cape Town Ladies Open in which the best local and international female golfers on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.
More than 70 professionals will show their talent alongside the amateurs who uses the platform to gain international experience on the professional circuit. The event will be held from Mar 13, 2024 to Mar 15, 2024, at Royal Cape Golf Club from beginning from 7:00 a.m. and will end by 2:00 p.m.
Open Book Festival Youth Fest
The Open Book Festival is an exciting literary event for young readers. The Youth Fest will include poets, writers, illustrators and local storytellers. The festival also offers engaging sessions with the authors, interactive workshops and a lively platform for fostering a love of literature and creative expression among the youth.
At 11:00 a.m. the book festival will take place in schools, public libraries, Museum of Childhood, Bertha House and at the Book Lounge from Mar 13, 2024 to Mar 20, 2024. The event will range from storytelling and activity sessions through presentations, performances and workshops.
Cape Town Carnival
The Carnival is a celebration of its cultural heritage that brings massive floats, costumes and more than 1,400 performers from different communities across the city in front of thousands of locals and visitors.
The Carnival will be based on the theme ‘Lekker’ and will be observed on Mar 16, 2024 beginning from 4:00 p.m. at the selected venue Fan Walk, Green Point. This year the carnival promises a truly tasty treat for the spectators while staying true to its traditions.
Red Bull Shay’ iMoto 2024
Motorsport is a stunt work with lots of flair is the name of the game for Red Bull Shay’ iMoto. Some of the country’s top spinners will go head-to-head at Century City to crown the next champion. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Mar 16, 2024 at Steel Bridge E-Parking Facility.
Cape Town Surf Pro
The Surfing South Africa event sees top senior surfers from around the country at 6:00 p.m. on Mar 16, 2024 and Mar 17, 2024 at Long Beach, Kommetjie.
The objective of the competition is to uplift and develop local athletes and provide amateur surfers with the eligible opportunity to compete on the international surf stage.
Absa Cape Epic
‘Absa Cape Epic’ is the mountain bike stage race conducted worldwide and will attract over 1,000 riders for days of non-stop action for the championship.
The Epic race will kick off from the City of Cape Town, will pass through four Western Cape Towns, finally ending to the finish line in Stellenbosch.
The event will begin on Mar 17, 2024 and will conclude on Mar 24, 2024 from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lourensford Wine estate, Tulbagh, Wellington and Stellenbosch.
SPAR Women’s Challenge
The Cape Town will commence the SPAR Women’s Challenge on Mar 24, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Green Point Common Fields. The challenge will see more than 10,000 runners and will pass through the streets of Green Point, Sea Point and Mouille Point.
The event will be held in five other cities of South Africa, and will feature a run or walk 10km challenge or 5km fun run for professional and recreational runners.
Moreover, the route will showcase fabulous entertainment, food vendors, prize-giving and lucky draws, as it promises to be a fun day for the participants.
