South Africa: The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education MEC Sipho Hlomuka met with the education stakeholders of two Districts. The meeting was a part of the Education Department’s series of meetings under the MECs 12 District Roadshow.
The districts which were in focus during the latest meetings, were the Ugu and HarryGwala District. The Member of the Executive Council has shared that they are working hard to promote the interest the education sector of the nation.
The officials have shared some images from the meeting and interaction. The officials have shared that the meeting follows a series of similar engagements with other Districts around KwaZulu Natal.
During these meetings, the MEC Sipho Hlomuka provides a platform for Extended District MANCO Members to introduce themselves. The officials are given the opportunity to detail both their challenges and achievements.
A team of officials from the Department of Education were present at the meeting with the district education stakeholders. The MEC accompanied by Chief Directors for District Operations Thembelihle Gumede and Dr David Chonco.
Various other Senior Management Members were also attending the meeting. They listened to the two District Directors Ms Ntombela and Mr Sibiya outline their District’s state of affairs presentations.
“The situation of vacant posts is dire, we ought to rectify this in order to produce maximum results” Remarked the MEC in his address. “I do not have a magic wand to make all your problems go away but through dialog we shall overcome most of them” said the MEC to the glaring crowd who attentively listened to his speech.
He further appreciated the hard work that all Education officials do which in most cases goes unnoticed. Offering a piece of advise to Districts the MEC said Those who perform at the highest level must assist those who struggle to produce best results, that will ensure that we are all in sync with one another in the Province which would ultimately propel us to the desired outcome.
