South Africa: The official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape marketing at global level – Wesgro, has proudly hosted the Western Cape pavilion at the Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025 with a clear focus on opening the access to new growth markets, such as Asian countries India and China.
Reportedly, the pavilion provided a unified platform for provincial destinations and private sector tourism products to shine on the global stage and contribute towards the provincial goal of doubling tourism in next ten years, i.e. by the year 2035.

The African continent’s premier travel and tourism trade show ‘Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025’ officially opened its doors at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025 was observed from May 13, 2025 to May 15, 2025 under the resonant theme ‘Unlimited Africa’. The three-day event was officially inaugurated by South African Deputy President – Paul Mashatile and South Africa’s Minister of Tourism – Patricia de Lille. They signalled a powerful, unified drive to showcase the continent’s boundless tourism potential and declared Africa open for global business.
2025 Edition Hosted In Durban
Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025 edition was hosted by the vibrant city Durban. The city is renowned for its rich cultural tapestry, golden coastline and warm hospitality that provides the perfect stage for the monumental gathering.
More than 1300 exhibitors from 27 African nations included first-time participants from Chad, St. Helena and Burkina Faso. The exhibitors kicked off their engagement with more than 1200 vetted international buyers from 55 source markets.
The 2025 edition underscored the significance of Indaba, as a proud Pan African platform for forging partnerships, driving investment and shaping the future of African Tourism.
Africa’s Bold Vision To Boost Tourism
Deputy President – Mashatile articulated bold vision to boost the tourism sector of the continent. He expressed, the theme for year 2025, ‘Unlimited Africa’ is not just a statement, it is a bold declaration of Africa’s promise and possibilities.
The theme speaks of an Africa unbound by old stereotypes. Africa is driven by its own ambitions and solutions. This is the Africa where intro-continental trade, investment and tourism are no longer mere aspirations but rather everyday realities.
